Hear.Feel.Live

Close your eyes for a minute. What do you hear? People working? The sound of cars passing by? Maybe you hear a baby crying, people talking, children playing or the sound of birds chirping. Hearing makes us aware if someone is opening a door or if someone dropped a plate in the kitchen while you’re in the living room. As I sat listening to music one day (my instrumentals) I closed my eyes and I felt something. Something that I had forgotten about. The music I was listening to brought a feeling of happiness. A sense of pride. A touch of humility. I remembered the feeling of making a song, sitting back and listening to what I was feeling when I made that song. You know you’ve experienced it as well. You hear a song that reminds you of a bad time in your life. All of a sudden those feelings rush back and you don’t just hear the song anymore, but you feel it. That sensation is what makes music so powerful. The power to transport your feelings to another time. The power to change the way you feel or to motivate you to do something (why do you think there are workout playlists). If you feel down, listening to sad music can get you even lower. However at that moment the last thing you want to hear is a happy song, why? Well, the reason is that you aren’t in the mood for a happy song. Someone who is crying over a breakup might want to let it all out, and in doing so he or she might look for songs that talk about saying goodbye, or leaving, or revenge (whatever floats your boat). I know some people that don’t like being sad so they are always listening to up beat music.

I think it’s funny how some genre’s of music lend themselves out for specific emotions. For example you have SOUL music. Rich chords, deep melodies and raw emotion carries this genre. So when I feel down, or want to relax, to me its the perfect music. What mood do the following genres put you in?

Heavy Metal
Rap
Country
Jazz

Each on has its own mood yet a Heavy Metal fan can tell me that he feels most relaxed listening to that type of music. This why I decided to go with the following motto for UNEAKMUSIC:HEAR.FEEL.LIVE I want my music to be felt. To make people feel alive. I want my productions to carry you to a happy place (HAPPY GILMORE REFERENCE). Hear music… feel music.. LIVE… Take a second to listen to this beat I made called “URSELF” and tell me what mood it puts you in.
